I hate to be the voice of doom and that is not my intention. The skin problem-turning yelllow could well mean liver damage. I guess I'd view "up and down" as a good sign that the problem may disappear with proper care. New feathers is also a good sign. Any positive changes are great. Such a neat bird!Porcupine update:
She is still acting very good and I have new feathers coming in! Look close you can see them! But her color is up and down, she is more yellow today...???
But at least we have feathers starting to grow!

I have a tiny little frizzle hen that lays non fertile (no yolk) eggs and they are about grape size, possibly little smaller. I have always heard and was told on here that the really small hens can have trouble with egg development due to there tiny size. So far my hens eggs have not gotten any bigger and she has been laying about a month and a half now. As far as laying an egg with no shell, that is not all that in common for new laying hens to die for the first little bit. Good luck!Midget laid her first egg this morning. But with no shell. I sure hope that doesn't continue. I'm hoping to get chicks from her. It will be my first second generation chicks. Hopefully the shell less egg is due to it being the first one. Calcium is not the problem. Is there anything else that could have caused this?
My hens won't be laying for a while yet and I've never shipped eggs. Shipped eggs often are a disappointment, but when the time comes we can discuss this possibility. However, you would have better luck finding eggs closer as the less distance the eggs are shipped the more likely of a good hatch. If you haven't, check with your home state threads to find someone who might have serama. Can you send me some hatching eggs

No shell is a bummer, but the good news is that the egg size was appropriate for the hen's size and there was a yolk. Now that I have time to think, I wish I had examined the yolk to check for fertility. And I threw the egg away...crud.
