American serama thread!

What I have done is set another nest, the same as the first, right next to the original. Each hen then had a nest of their own.

Ya, I've had two nest boxes in there the entire time.
Deanna was just determined to help Gyda hatch her eggs.
Deanna and the 2 chicks are doing fine in their new location.

I've given eggs to two other hens but they don't stay on them for very long as of yet.

My little tribbles I hatched over the weekend! They are both sweetlings. They're brooding with one bird from my own eggs that popped out from under a broody who turned out to just.. not want to get off the nest even after he was out. Currently trying to break her of her broodiness before she gets in to poorer shape, and won't be letting her brood again.

He is a very angry looking baby. But also very sweet. Has a whole week on the tribbles, but only just now caught up in size.

Some other miscellany from my growing out birds:

Very cute chicks; nice looking teenage birds too.

I'm getting very antsy waiting to candle my Tribble eggs.

I just discovered the 24 Hour Crazy Auction thread.
Looks like fun. I just added 4 Tribble eggs

When is your due date MadamPoofyBrow?
The 21st is day 21, but Spaz hatched on day 19 so I'm expecting them anywhere between the 19th and 21st. Today I'm candling and tossing any clears. I'll let you know

Now I know how Grandparents feel.

Well Gramps, I candled my five eggs this morning and am absolutely astounded. All five are developing. Incredible! To have eggs shipped from Florida to Wisconsin ... I really had no real hopes they could make the trip and still be viable; at least not all of them.

I believe it's the way you pack them. WOW!

Only once before did I have luck with shipped eggs and they were packaged in a similar fashion-with bubble wrap. Otherwise, in all the other attempts with shipped eggs, I got one, two, or no chicks.
