think you're right about this one exchequer ,View attachment 1511377 feathers are either black or white . not mixed. tiny comb still with barely visible points
When mine hatch with that color pattern, they have turned out exchequer. Definitely mottled at least.

Well. What started as a so so day Turned out great. Bought another Brinsea ,Smidge babies are pipping, and Sabine laid her first egg. She's my mottled frizzled pullet with My Silkie feathered Cajun. How do I keep it viable? Arrietty and Suri are laying every day.. I'm just waiting on another incubator.

:clap
Just keep it in a carton, air cell up, and keep it in a cool spot. Not cold, not hot. Should be fine for up to 10-14 days.

Noddle was regularly laying eggs - for about a week. I got 6 eggs in 10 days!!! Now I can't keep her from sleeping in the nesting box!
:barnie

I've been keeping her in the tractor all day to try to break her. (fresh air, sunshine, & a rooster to keep her thoughts away from incubation) When in the nest, she makes the most adorable little grumpy noises, and is so cute all fluffed up in the pancake position. However, I would rather her continue to lay eggs. It's been 5 days without an egg. I already have too many chicks & broody hens. For most of the day, she seems fine. It's just late afternoon or night that she contemplates motherhood.

BTW- Are seramas seasonal layers or should she continue to lay year round (when not broody)?

@WVduckchick.
Everyone of the 14 eggs you sent are developing! I've never had 100% of my shipped eggs develope!

:ya that’s great!
The last set I sent out 3 weeks ago are hatching this week. She said she only had 1 or 2 that didn’t develop. And they didn’t travel as far as yours did!!
