American serama thread!

Here's my 3.5 wk old serama: (Click image to enlarge) Please excuse the dusty garage.

Is this another female??? I'm not seeing any wattles. Comb is not large - but not flat either. Wattles are very hard to spot - also pale- which is why I'm guessing female for now.

Still looking female but I have had some late bloomers this year. Hopefully you should know for sure in the next week or two.

Here's my 7 wk old female silkied serama

Too cute. I have a silkied young one that I swore was female, long after the ones that hatched with it were showing definite male signs. A few weeks later, it’s comb popped out of nowhere! I only hatched the one silkied in that hatch, or I would have thought I was looking at the wrong chick!

I was already conversing with a gal on FB to acquire a silkied rooster from her to swap out my silkied rooster. Luckily I didn’t do it.

And she hatches out 1 chick, 1 other egg zipperpipped but was dead when she got off the nest. The rest were infertile (infertile Rooster discovered so the hatch wasn't a waste I learned something)

Here are @Faraday40 other two 3.5 serama chicks.

I'm thinking girls here as well. The cinnamon one has a little red popping, but its been that way. Im pretty sure the white one is. It just acts like a girl.

Thank you for posting their pics.

Although the comb can be seen, the brown looks female to me. I see no pink color in the comb.

The white chick looks more ???? to me.
Its comb has a touch of color so it could be male (The comb would start to darken & grow during this next week if it's male.) The temp &/or excitement about being picked up could give a false positive by causing some flushing. Time will tell.

Photo time
These silkied seramas hatched back in June.
There are 2 females (1st pullet is 2 weeks older)

There are 2 males.

Honestly, these cockerels are awesome. I'm going to have a hard time selling them. The light one is so sweet & reminds me of Teddy.

I really like the color of the golden one. He's the feisty one. DD really wants to keep him - BUT he has a tiny spring on each side near the back of his comb. His nickname is "Mr Poopy." (Yep that's the kind of names you get when you allow kids to name them. )
