American serama thread!

Zoomumzy- if I die and come back a chicken, I just hope that I am your chicken. That is such a awesome set up. I think your chicken room is cleaner than my whole house. I do have a 18 month and 4 year old that help in that category, but still OMG!

Hi everyone I'm looking for ideas for hubby to make to me a chicken coop or tractor for my seramas:) tomorrow is my birthday so I'm hoping that's my gift what do you all have to show me zoomuzzys your set up is awesome but I can't have mine inside;) oh how I wish

They actually play in the ice water?
I hose mine down with a fine spray and it cools them off nicely but they hate it while it's happening.

Oh they love ice! They jump right in the tray and stand there. It's the funniest thing. I tried the hose and a sprinkler...they hate it and act like I'm killing them LOL

If you figure that out, let me know so I know how many to get once I get that mini farm!

And you're welcome...I hope it gives some ideas to people. I told my husband I could keep him busy if he wanted a second job

When I had a 4 year old and a baby, there was no way I could have a house like I do now lol. Mine are 18 and 14...they don't contribute to the mess anymore and they get to help keep the house up instead of paying rent!

And I hear that a lot about coming back as one of my animals lol. I didn't even show you the cat set up

They have the whole other side of the chicken room. They eat off my antique dressers (that I have no use for) and have wall to wall cat trees with fluffy pillows and soft blankets so they don't have to lay on the hard carpeting

I still can't believe how many cats you have. That in itself has to be a full time job! It is to hard to have one where we live especially with a doggie door, not that we don't want one. They are too many coyotes, feral cats (at least 50), and bad neighbor dogs to even try, Since our last one had to be put down. The neighbors dog got it and broke its leg and by the time I rushed to the vet (2 hours) away, it was in shock and would not have survived the surgery. It was so tramatic that we haven't even tried again. I threaten to kill the feral cats around here if the eat any more chickens but 3 years later and they are all still alive. My husband did try once and I made alot of noise so it would run of before he could shoot it. We really do like cats..I just don't like them eating my seramas for lunch!!! I need to catch them all and get them spayed and nuetered, but that would be at least $5,000.
