I ordered the small from Claires Country cottage or something like that and it was still way too big on Lucky. The dog chewed it up so I have to order another one and try to sew the straps.

Ya, Bumble's is too big for her too...just wanted her to start getting used to it. Actually someone told me to use a "face mask" the ones with the elastic over each ear type. She just does not like it. LOL. She throws llittle birdy temper tantrums.

Thank you, whoever posted a suggestion about using play sand in pens instead of shavings! I just switched, and it looks great! Less dusty, and super easy to clean with less waste. For a sifter, I cut a big hole in a small bucket and settled in a metal food steamer, the kind that looks like a spaceship when folded. Hopefully, I'll be wasting a lot less feed now, because I can separate it from the bedding and put it back into the feeders.

A friend of mine gave some info about me to a local newspaper reporter, about my hobby, and she might come out and do a story about Seramas. That's why I switched to sand to begin with; I wanted it to look nice, especially since I have the chickens in a small town. I cleaned up fast, and I can't wait to tell her all about my tiny pets!

I have decent feathers with my previous set-up, but I am so tired of scattering shavings all over the yard, especially when it's full of feed. Every now and then, I have to go out and harvest the corn seedlings from the yard....

Another one from Sigi (she wrote the serama color book) http://www.the-coop.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=91434&page=1 I would of dig deeper in the research on genetics if I want to take on a color project. As you know, serama is a genetic stew, you will have to untangle it one at a time.

For instance, I was wrong on the genetic make up of my double laced cocopop silver duckwing many times before I realize what they really are after test mated all my breeders. Don't get me wrong, I am just trying to help you and which ever way you want to go about is up to you.....
