It’s a different lighting than the original pics but still! Queenie got so dark! That’s not such a bad thing though. It’s interesting to see how age made her type “settle” though. I promise she can stand upright with her breast above her back. She just didn’t want to.

I feel bad for them; they’re going to a show in a trailer that still needs ventilation installed, also, two to a hole in the carrier, and it’s hot.

I was at the Coullee Region poultry show. This chicken got reserve Junior Champion. This chicken should have beaten her IMO. Best d’Anvers I saw. The breeder (who bred him and the Champion) agreed but correctly predicted he wouldn’t win since he’s male and male d’Anvers never win for some reason. So he only got a first. :,( it would have been a pleasure to be beaten by him. I got reserve of breed with this hen. I don’t get it, I’m not a huge fan of the blue quails. But the judges are. Queeny got reserve of variety. Personally I liked her better than the Champion, but I’m biased. For the Belgian bantam fans, a pretty d’Uccle. I took a lot more show pics but they’d take ages to share.
