Amers d’Anvers

Anything is possible though. When I crossed this one with the Dominique I discovered she carried the yellow skin gene. 😅

I thought that but the F1 male has an unrelated d’Anver dam from the F1 hens. The chance of both cuckoo d’Anvers hens carrying lavender is pretty slim. This is the only one I hatched like this out of dozens (mind there were multiple mothers and not all might carry lavender in this theoretical scenario.)
Genetics are interesting.

I'm invading your d'anvers thread. I hope that's okay. I haven't gotten any good pictures of my d'anvers girls lately, it seems like they're always molting or something.

My husband took this nice one of Fortune napping in the sun.View attachment 3837517
Awwwwww!!

I'm really not sure why but when I see them like this, I'm never sure whether I need to check to see if they're possibly dead, or coo because it's cute... lol.
Yeah, it doesn't seem very natural for them to lie down when they roost upright.

I am assembling a wait list for my birds that way I can contact interested folks when birds become available. I always seem to have people asking when I don't have them and then need to advertise them when I do.
