Ameruacana or Easter Egger?

@ farmerchef - I live in the US, Southeast Georgia. :)

@ mysunwolf - haha. That's what I was thinking though I think I have one younger rooster that seemed to be camara shy this morning that looks to be a blue wheaton. He's completely color diluted, he's a light cream on top and a pale to slate blue on bottom and even his saddle feathers are the same blue including his "tuffs" too. I can't wait to have my first two bitty's in january!

Ok, I was just wondering because the Araucanas over there are crested, have tails and beards.

@ farmerchef - ok, thank you for letting me know that! I'n excited I just found 7 more eggs. I'm just wondering if I should incubate them too. My hens aren't being broody. They lay them scattered every where. I'm also beginning to ponder why my free range hens are laying and my coop'd hens aren't? Ugh. My girls are complicated. Haha.

Probably should huh?! Lol. I'm a first time chick mom haha. I'm just used to my old neighbors chickens being floggy over their eggs and these hens just leave them alone. I already tested one to see if they are fertilized and it was, and I have a feeling that I talk a lot haha.

They are probably Easter Eggers, because they don't look like the recognized colors to me. I am far from expert, or even amatuer, though, when it comes to blue egg layers.

Either way, those are some gorgeous birds you have there! I hope the hens give you nice, blue eggs!

Thank you sk8inchick(en)!

Welcome!

And what are you waiting for? Get yourself an electric hen and hatch those babies!

And like I said, they looked like EE's to me at first, but now that I look at those pictures, some of them may be Ameraucanas after all.

This is a helpful link, as it has pictures of all eight of the recognized colors of Ameraucana. Good luck with your birds! And it was so nice of you to rescue them!
