I compound my own using a liquid:Thank you very much! Are there any creative ways to pare down a medication and to add something to administer? By way of example, I'd like to divide up 500mg fish mox capsules into 250mg amounts. Could that be put in coconut oil and chilled to make a more solid application? Or would that not interact well with the Amoxicillin?
I wonder if there is an existing list of what to mix different antibiotics with?
No, I make a liquid. Let me see if I can find a thread I did about it.Using this, do you make a paste?
yes, and that because the bacteria are usually more sensitive to enrofloxacin than amoxicillin.@casportpony , I saw somewhere else that you prefer Baytril over Amoxicillin for Salpingitis. Still true?
I am trying to get prepared in the event we have another issue. Running around trying to get supplies and medication at night proved to be quite difficult. Diagnosis is another challenge in and of itself. We probably could have saved at least one of the two hens we recently lost if we had been better prepared. Thanks again!!!yes, and that because the bacteria are usually more sensitive to enrofloxacin than amoxicillin.
