I posted this information in another thread, but wanted to post it on its own. I'm dealing with salpingitis in a pullet, and was hoping to find a source of amoxicillin online to order more. Sadly, I think a prescription is required now.

The lable on this bottle looks like the stuff I bought. HOWEVER!!! THIS IS A SCAM SITE!!! They are using a legitimate business name, address, and phone number, but when I called the number, the woman told me it's a scam, and they are trying to get it taken down.

They don't specify the mg of amox in each pill. These are for pigeons, so I'm wondering if it's 10 mg per?

I saw some (don't remember the site) that were 10 mg/pill. If you need to dose 250 mg twice a day, that's 50 pills. :(

250 mg twice a day is what I've read here on BYC several times for treating salpingitis.

This product is 10% amoxicillin, available on several sites, but way too weak:

There is a shortage of amoxicillin. It is odd, but my husband just got a prescription for amoxicillin today after dental surgery. It may be that the government is withholding animal amoxicillin in order to treat humans.
Yes, 1tsp to 1 gal water, but is there a way to calculate & make this into a direct dose solution via needleless syringe, at the right strength? As in:
10% Amoxycillin per 100gms = 10,000 mgs per 100 gms
So that'd be 100 milligrams per 1 gram
250 mgs in 2.5 grams of powder for each dose? And add enough liquid to get it into a syringe.
