An Atrocity Absolutely No Pictures

Everyone seems to be assuming the dog was killed so they could skin it.

While it would be highly "unusual", it could be the dog died of natural causes and then was skinned.

There's really not been enough info given to determine much other than there's a died , skinned canine.

Anything else is speculation

even if the dog died naturally its still kinda wierd to SKIN a dog.. i mean... its not very ethical i guess.. poor dog, and that is pretty messed up.

Yeah, I don't think that most normal people would think to skin a dog after it has died, especially to skin it and the just leave it. I would report it knowing that nothing will probably be done, but just in case there are other odd things going on locally with animals. It's pretty common for really sick individuals to do things to animals before they move on to humans.

There is a show on T.V. Called Scrubs where the actors carry around a stuffed (taxidermied) dog I always thought that was kind of wierd. I think it would be a sad reminder of my lost pet to keep his skin around . I am saddened to hear of this, the fact that the dog was left out laying on the ground leads me to believe is wasn't someones dead pet. Usually people will show more respect to their pets and dispose of the remains by burying them or in some other manner, not skin them and leave them for the buzzards.

this kinda reminds me of the time this kid that i use o live across the street from.. he was SICK.. to sick to put what he did on here but it had to do with baby birds ( like starling chicks ) and it was disturbing.. he went to jail eventually for animal abusse.. ew

Kinda off topic, but I fully intend to have one of my goats, Gizmo, taxidermied when he dies (hopefully not for a long time). He was the first goat that started it all, an angora wether, one of quads which the mum couldnt handle feeding all of them. He came along at a time when my life was pretty messed up and he was sort of the catalyst that turned my life around for the better. Several years later I got my first breeding does and it all just exploded from there and now I'm breeding all sorts of livestock. I figure at this point in my life I know I'm not gonna be living here forever, and I dont want to bury him someplace that I'm gonna leave, and I've never been that keen on cremation. So I'm having him taxidermied, if that makes me weird and creepy then so be it lol

The others make a good point - you don't skin and dump a pet dog that dies of natural circumstances.
Alright, if you wish.... I suppose somewhere, in some place, someone may do this. But it is unusual, to say the very least.

I only live about 15 miles from Gary, and while I don't know him personally, I know that the area he calls home is changing. Many people are moving in from outside of what was once a tight knit community. The fact that the hound was unceremoniously left on a back lot, skinned for the vultures to devour should raise the hackles.

I suggest again, that under these circumstances, it be reported.
