The other day I found a huge egg in the coop and was shocked at the size. Everyone I showed it too said it would probably have 2 yolks in it. I have had other eggs that had 2 yolks and they were not this big so I thought maybe it would have 3 yolks....but when we cracked it open for breakfast this morning only 1 yolk was inside with another fully intact egg! I was shocked. I have never had this happen before. Anyone else ever seen it? I am glad my husband was standing there when I cracked it open - he never would have believed me!

Wow that's amazing!! I'm guessing after the shell is formed the egg somehow got stuck or pushed back and went through the process again. Crazy!!!

I had this happen last year. Shocked me but was pretty neat to see. The egg on the outside was hard but the one on the inside was not fully developed. It had a soft shell but had the yolk inside it too. Pretty weird eh?
