A few months back I bought a pair of beautiful black n white ducks at a feed store. They couldn't tell me anything about them.
One guy said they where bread from White Peking & Mallard. Couldn't tell me if they are males or females.
As they got older I started to see a emerald green on the black feathers on their heads and tales. But you can't see it unless the sun hits it the right way.
I'm trying to find out if they are Ancona or are they just a mix breed.
Also, they started to breed with my brown ducks
(don't know what they are) & my 2 white Peking. (Figured the black n white ones where boys cause they are mounting the other 4.)
We candled 13 eggs and 6 was fertile.
We have them in a incubator now...
Something happened when we candled them and now my lead momma duck 'Ethel' who seems to call the shots around the yard wouldn't go near the nest. The temperature here dropped to 66 last night, so we brought them in to keep them warm.
