Ancona Ducks

Gorgeous ducks everyone - but whats up with the one picture crap?!?!?! HELLO!!! Ancona official droolers over here!!!

Here they are less than a week old. Boy could those little guys nap!

Darwish those guys are stinkin adorable, thank you! I am in the same (harsh, fierce, frigid) climate as you. I was aiming to get eggs sent around St Patrick's to stick in the incubator, does that timing seem about right?

I was disappointed to not find anconas through holderread's. I'm new to this, why would he skip this year? I'm getting eggs from this lady though, so the hatching adventure ought to be pretty fun and exciting.

I'm still in my first year of raising ducks and geese, so I might not be your best resource for questions. I think, however, that you can hatch them whenever you want, it just might take more care the earlier you do it. The earlier you hatch and brood them, the more protection you will have to provide against unpredictable Spring weather.

I don't know why Holderread isn't selling Ancona ducklings this year. I know he dropped several breeds of birds this year.
