And I'm looking for Silkie ducks. those are hard to find!

Well it's wonderful to see I'm not alone!

I presently have some 18, 6 day old babes out in the brooder; lav orps, blue orps, light sussex, one silver sussex and some black copper marans.

I also have 16, 1 month old babies in the pen next to them,

- my silver-grey dorkings, oeg, and some barnyard mixes I put in for a friend.

Everyone else is still ripping around outside enjoying the fall weather, rumours of snow for tomorrow, but it won't stay - it's not cold enough. Letting them enjoy as much fresh air as possible before they move inside for our cold, cold winter!

Welcome everyone! Good luck with all your babies!

(I'm gonna try some staggered hatches come spring so I can get babies weekly, since I'll be married to the barn between lambing and calving, I know I will be home, and I always LOVE more babies.)

How is everyone doing?

I candled last night, Day 8, and all but 1 looked excellent, it was unfertilized, I had also thrown 3 refridgerated ones in there just to see and fill it up and they were duds also (which I had expected cause they were much older), so I'm sitting pretty at 21 wiggly little babes in there.
