The phoenix is a cockerel. Phoenix have sex specific plumage. Males have a black breast and hens have a salmon red breast.
No comment on the andalusian. I've had some andalusian pullets that got bigger combs when quite young.
It's starting to look more like a pullet than it did when it was younger. The comb is still pale and hasn't grown much at all, and it has no wattle development. I think you have cause to be optimistic that it is a pullet, but it's not definite just yet. A couple of more weeks should do the trick. After reading everyone's comments and doing a bit of research, I think it's official that the silver phoenix is a cockerel. I'm not too upset honestly since they are gorgeous birds. However, now I'm seriously hoping for the Andalusian to be a pullet--I can't take on another rooster. Thoughts about the updated pics? The chicks are now 7 weeks old.
I've heard Andalusians can have quite large combs and tail feathers even as pullets--her wattles are not red, and her comb is not as large as the cockerels I've seen at this age. Hopefully she IS a she.
