I'm not saying everyone has to keep their rabbits in the house- it isn't practical for everyone- but in my experience there's nothing wrong with keeping them inside, and I know a ton of people that do it too.

Mine live in the woods around the house. Super easy upkeep. I never know they’re around. I’m sure I’ll see more of them once I get some plants in the ground.
