Animal abuse?!?

I think they need yo bring the case nefore a judge befote they remove animals. I Thonk the "owners " have a right to appear, but not an actual trial or anything. Special administratovr judge.
Thats how it is with pets in some other states anywa as far as All these steps" goes, the law needs to jave manu safeguards built in when its a matter of The Government seizing private proprty.
animals are pretty much considerred property under the law.children too for that matter. Not too long ago wives were legal property of their husbands.
chickens are lucky to jave any rights to humane treatment at all.
THE HUMANE SOCIETY is responsible for anything in law that treats animals any better than other property.
Remember not too long ago in Missouri, people wanted to pass a law putting a Tiny bit of humabe regulation onto puppy mills?
There qas a LOT of campaigning against it badmouthing the Hunabe Society as radi als who wanted everyone to be vegitarians.
the campaign convinced a lot of folks that this puppy mill law would be bad for farmers... Although it narrowly passed, it waa basically undone bymocongress.
those chickens. Etc are very lucky to live next to you.
in my experience, the general treatment of and attitude toward animalsis far far worse, sort of behind, any other places ive lived.
Mayne theywill take the birds and your neighbors wont replace them. The neighbors can just have somethhing to complain about ( the bad guys who took their birds away) which is almost as good as having something to abuse.
feel .so bad for those kids.

Wonderful! Now hopefully that will mean our livestock will mean something. It is different for everyone, someone may have hundreds of chickens and raise them for meat and eggs were someone else may own 4 or 5 hens for eggs and pets. While we all care for our birds they are not looked at as anything more than a mindless robot spitting out eggs. I thinnk they are some of the most exciting and entertaining animals I own ( dont tell the dogs I said that ) I cant imagine them being that mindless egg machine...

Exactly! That is what my question is as well. I didnt know if maybe they still had the kids because it is only an accusation at the moment??

Around here, a complaint sends out the troops. You are then grilled and so is your school as to the probability. If it is founded, you lose the kids....you are guilty until proven innocent. I just don't understand how those kids remain in their care.

I know that family services went to the school, the kids came home from school and on that day I met my kids at the end of the road to walk them up and they told me all about them coming in and asking them questions. A single complaint gets DFS running to your door around here too and actually the two were arrested from their home over it, I grabbed the kids up and waited to hear something. Its all strange and I dont understand why the kids get to stay. I was prepared for them to have to go and I was going to plead a case with the DFS to let them stay with me. Their mom died last year so it is a tough time for them anyway.

Oh, those poor kids. My heart bleeds for them. There is nothing worse, in my opinion, then the loss of your mom. I still miss mine every single day.

I will be keeping them in my prayers. No wonder you are in such a terrible position. I would be hard pressed to move and leave them behind, also.

Thank you I am sure they would appreciate someone thinking of them. I try to spend time with them when they are allowed to stay the night with my daughter ( maybe once a month ). They always come to me first when they are outside playing and someone gets an injury, one day the 3rd grader said to me "you care for us like mom did, you feel like my mom to me" Wow, that isnt tugging at the heart strings that is yanking them out, I finished patching her up and sent her to play and balled my eyes out

They really are great kids and dont get the love that they need and it saddens me. My dh and I have decided if it comes down to those two going to jail we want to fight for those kids. Your right I cant just pack up and go and leave them behind.

That just broke my heart. I thankfully still have my mom and grandmother, and my son has me. I couldn't imagine, if a child that I knew came to me and said something like that. I just don't think my heart could handle it. I really really hope it all works out with all of it, the kids, the animals. All of it.

Thank you. I myself know how it feels to feel unwanted and to have a lost relationship with your mother. I just almost broke down when she said that to me. those 2 have become my other kids over the past 2 years and I really hope the best for them. It hurts that there is nothing I can do to help them. I appreciate your well wishes and luck and support those girls are going to need it.
