Animals to protect chickens from foxes

Anything gonna take on a fox with reliable success, there's a pretty fair chance it would someday decide to do similar to your chickens.

BY FAR the simplest safest most reliable solution is simply to have foxproof fencing. If you have a 4' welded wire fence with digproof apron of considerable size and a line or two of hotwire (correctly installed, and tested daily to make sure it still has correct voltage) that is pretty good protection.

I have a friend that uses Great Pyrenees as flock/herd protectors.
They've killed a couple of coyotes and to this point, he hasn't had any problem with the dogs attacking any of the animals/birds they guard.
 
Llamas are by far the best guards from foxes or predators, for any type of lifestock, they protected my very young 3 months old Rheas and older (25) over the years, even to this day and some were 10 - 15 yrs old.
