Annie's thread- Five puppies! LOTS of PICS on page 10!

Her temp last night was
11:00pm- 99.5
2:00am-99.0
Then today's where
11:00am-98.3
2:51pm- 98.0

She is quiet at the moment, not even to much shivering, she is laying by the table, do I put her back in her box? Or leave her be because she is finally comfy?

This is IT. Get ready.

Leave her lay where she wants. Get ready for a sleepless night, because she will likely go into active labor tonight. She is just resting and getting ready. I have been breeding and showing dogs for over 20 years. I will be here til 11p. If you need me PM me.

well I got up to pee and so did she, so I gave her a snack, she hasn't eaten much real food today, so I put a bit of canned food (three spoonfulls) in a small bowl with two spoonfulls of cottage cheese and a handfull (maybe 1/4 cup) puppy food. Mixed it up and she ate it like she hadn't eat in days, I know she may puke it back up later but I still wanted her to have some food in her. I took her out and let her pee. Then when we came in I took her to her pool she is now laying in there. I will leave her be if she gets out though. I guess I could of gone to work today if she isn't going to start real labor till after ten, but I guess I'm happy to be here with her anyway.

Here are some pictures

This is 7 weeks 3 days which would be 52 days

Well I am suppose to work from 2pm to 10pm but if I need to I can call in again and it won't count against me, as walmart rules go you can take 3 days off in a row. If the pups are born by then DH can watch them while I go to work.

I just wish I were closer - I would come help

That pic where she is looking at the camera - her face says "this sucks - get them out!"

ikr! I wish you where closer too. She just woke up and is eyeing my steak. I gave in and gave her a peice. She is now sitting here looking at me like. "More mom, please!"

I just noticed your post describing what you gave her to eat. I'm not sure if you are with-holding food from her because she is close to labor. If you are please know that doing so isn't necessary as it is in people (not necessary there either but that's a whole 'nuther subject...). It's best she gets her normal ration that she's had. Remember he labor will be hours and hours and she'll need the calories really bad. That and she's about to become a bonafied milk factory for all those hungry babies she's carrying. You don't want to limit calories if she is willing to take them in. Another thing that I know breeders do is give their laboring grump low sodium chicken stock instead of water. This can ensure they stay hydrated because its more yummy than water and it also replaces some electrolytes.
