How about feeding them?
Chickens are no harder to feed than the average dog. There are pre-made feeds, which can be found in your local feed & seed or TSC store, and home-made feeds. There are recipes for home-made feeds on the internet or you can make one yourself with a bit of food know-how. Chickens need carbohydrates, fat, protein, and calcium amongst other things. Chicks need to have a different kind of feed than chickens, which is called chick feed. As a chick is younger and more vulnerable you may want to hold off on just throwing together what contains the above into a make shift feed, especially since they need different types of nutrition. Another great thing about giving your chickens treats! These are just bits of human safe food or meal worms to give them variety in their diet. But despite their need for calcium milk or other(non-yoghurt) dairy products are not good for them.
