My hens havnt layed since novemeber so i decided not to bother checking nesting boxes, today i decided to after 2 weeks off not looking and there was ten eggs and loads of smashed ones in tehre but the smashed eggs were that cold they had split in the middle so i fed them to the hens and they yokl and white were frozen!, ive baughts some hay so im going to put some in the nesting boxes soon

Yup, been there, learned my lesson! I usually check every other day atleast just to make sure I'm not missing any in my one coop. My free rangers have been pretty consistant about laying this winter so I check everyday.
