There is a roo in the flock that has been crowing for about two weeks now, but not a peep from this one. Acts very hen like but I’m not sure…

How did it work out with new roo?Bob crowed!![]()
It is @silkieshorts Bob that started crowing, so maybe they can tell you how things are by now.How did it work out with new roo?
First time with 3 roosters here. I have 2 bonded brothers not mating yet born June 1 and one 3 month old blue andalusian that was suppose to be a pullet. They seem to have formed their own flock
My one rooster started to mate one new hen excessively- so now it's time to build a rooster pad. Or rehome. He seems to be doing th dance, calling foe food and protective of the girls. I got 4 new cinnamon queens and he has been cooing all over them. He mated 3 times in one hour w the same hen. Cockerels and being only 4 months old we have a ways to goIt is @silkieshorts Bob that started crowing, so maybe they can tell you how things are by now.
But from my own experience I can tell you that lots of space in the coop (even better several coops), free ranging, several feeding and water stations widely spread and lots of females can help them get along just fine, but there is no guarantee and things can change in the blink of an eye when teenage hormones hit.
I had to rehome Bob as he and his brother Ringo started fighting when Bob started crowing. He’s now the only roo in a flock of 10 living his best life. I now have one roo and two hens, they started mating a few days ago and one just started laying yesterday, I plan on getting three more hens. They’re 6 months old.How did it work out with new roo?
