UPDATE******

May was talking up a storm last night to me and I kinda wondered what she was telling me. I picked her up to check her side and butt out. looked good from first glance. She was mad at me for messing with her feathers. 'Oh yea missy?" i said. Took her inside to check her out more and make sure all was well with the injury. I wraped her up, flipped her on her side and went to work nosing around and noticed that the top skin that the maggots had gotten under was kinda dry and crinkely. Started to pick at it a little and it came off like crusty skin!

Underneath was new healthy skin!!!!!!!!!! it flaked off easily no infection, no sores nothing!!!! feather spots still there, etc. The old skin was holding some of the feathers down and was like a scab pulling at her. SO, i picked it all off, put some neosporing on two spots that looked a little tender and took off the towel and let her up.

HOLY COW BAT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is acting like a little girl again. I have not seen her this happy and clucky and good looking in months.
