Another Crowing Easter Egger Pullet

Just a update...I'm 90% certain Martha is a "George". Still too young for mating or eggs but he acts like you would expect any rooster to act. Thanks for everyone's input. He is pretty funny and his crowing is more amusing than annoying. Not as loud as some roo's I've heard in the past. I love watching him chase the cats in the yard. They could care less about the chickens but he harasses them anyway.

100% Roo. A little louder than I would like and crowing at all hours lately. Hopefully it is just because he is a horny teenager!

Not true, a chicken cannot change from being a female to being a male.

If sHE is crowing at 9 weeks old, the she is a HE. He will look more and more like a cockerel as the next weeks pass.

True, chickens don't change sexes, but hens can and do crow. I have an OEGB pullet that crowed at about 12 weeks. We waited and waited for other "rooster" markers, until the day she laid her first egg. The crowing stopped after that. My DH thinks she crowed because she was in with a slightly older cockerel that crowed. She mimicked him until her hormones kicked in and she figured out she is a hen. Her crow never was the full throated crow of my roos, but it was definitely a crow.
