Hello BYC! Technically I'm not new to the site -- I've been a lurker for several months now and BYC has become a nightly stop on my Internet wanderings (Coop Construction is one of my favourite forums; it's like HGTV for chickens). I don't even have chickens, and won't be able to for some years, but I figure I'll just listen, learn and ask along the way.
I've enjoyed all the beautiful pictures of chickens, other birds, eggs and coops that people have posted here. Thanks to everyone who has contributed knowledge to this site; it's amazing and incredibly educational. I knew nothing, nada, zippo, zilch about chickens (except that they tasted good with curry and *could* lay eggs without a rooster); now I know what a bantam is, that dual-purpose is a bird, and that chicken math is feathery, not fuzzy.
