OK, seeing as I accidentally revealed the answer, I’ll tell you all.

It’s bread. Everybody was right. Specifically, it is a Pullman loaf.

So, people can tell the difference between bread and wood.

I think the real question is "how's it taste with butter?" Because even if that's an incredibly old 4x4, I'm cutting off a slice and trying it.

OK, seeing as I accidentally revealed the answer, I’ll tell you all.

It’s bread. Everybody was right. Specifically, it is a Pullman loaf.

So, people can tell the difference between bread and wood.

Fascinating.

With that end grain, it'd have to be a very old piece of basically mummified lumber. No sign of saw marks

but for bread, it's bomb-diggity.
