Another sick hen..same symptoms

Some chickens will happily eat the miconazole cream right off your finger. Try that first. The way I get miconazole into the chicken is to put the cream on my finger, open the chicken's beak and then scrape the cream off my finger just inside the beak. Easy as it sounds.

Would you like to learn how to tube feed fluids? If she were mine i would start by placing her in a warm room or cage, 80-85 degrees is ideal, then once warm I would tube warmed Pedialyte.

Everyone makes it sound like a very simple process, where the chicken is still while you do this. That is never the case for me. They fight like crazy, and pull their heads away at the slightest touch. I have tried calming them, etc...but as soon as I touch their beak, they go bonkers.
Catch her and wrap her in a towel, gently but *firmly* hold her head still, then open her beak.

Great pictures! I will try again...maybe take some photos of my own to show my complete and utter failure... ;)
I think most people are afraid of hurting them, and that's why they have problems. Once you realize that restraining them does not hurt them you will be fine. One word of caution though, if her crop is full of liquid be very careful not to put pressure on it since that could cause her to regurgitate and aspirate some of the crop contents.
