Does anyone know how to prevent ants from getting in the roosting area? We have a pet friendly bug spray which we just used but my dad isn't sure it will work. The chickens don't seem to have any bites or anything from them so...

Hi! Use 1/2 borax and 1/2 sugar somewhere along their trail where no other animals will get to it. The ants will eat the sugar/borax and carry it back to their hill to feed to the others. The borax will make gas in their little tummies and since they can't burp or, well, you know....they die. Here in SC I just dump this mixture on whole ant hills and in a couple of days they are gone. Oh, it does take a little time. You could also spray their trail with vinegar, this will confuse them and maybe they will go elsewhere. Good luck!
