any advice on lockdown?

@abidaby I have loved reading your thread, very helpful! Congrats on the hatch of your little ducklings! I get my two welshies Wednesday and can't wait!

Aww thank you!! Is that because I ask so many questions  haha.
I can't believe it actually happened, I was so convinced they wouldn't hatch but with the help of @WVduckchick It happened! How exciting! Be sure to post some photos for all of us.

Yes, the questions were very helpful! A lot of things I have questioned myself! Thanks to the wonderful people on here our duckies will live wonderful lives! :) I will be sure to posts some pics!

Aww shucks, thank you both! I love it when these turn out successfully!

Feed - Miss Lydia will be better with those questions. I use flock raiser feed, then give access to oyster shell when the girls start laying, but I'm a bit unconventional. Lol

I use an all flock also that way you don't have to keep buying different feeds you start them off on it and just keep them on it through their life. And like @WVduckchick I keep out Oyster shell for all my layers. Be sure to buy crumble for little ones.

Hello! I'm on day 9 now! 6 Cayuga eggs but looks like only 4 might make it... Your duckies are adorable. Did they imprint on you?

Thanks @Miss Lydia when do you start them on grit?
Hi @kaciebig, thank you!! They certainly know my voice and the Cayuga seems to follow me round more than the runners :).

.
They need grit as soon as you start them on treats. If you have them outside they will pick up some on their own if on ground but I also put a small bowl in their brooder with grit in it you can go out and cut out a piece of sod with dirt etc attached to it and put that in their brooder they will root around in it for hours and get grit that way also. Just don't add grit to their feed they may eat too much they will use as needed in a bowl. [Instinct]
