Hi ,
I got this lavender araucana hen on the 21st July 2020

She is about the 1yr old mark but I haven't had any eggs from her since I got her...
She has no signs of lice or worms , she is happy and healthy but was just wondering about her egg laying?

She was " apparently " starting moult when I got her and had laid the day before I picked her up?

Any ideas?

I had an araucana hen, and she didn't lay very often. About once a week. I don't know how old she was.
Maybe your hen is just not laying because she is new to your yard? Settling in can take a while.
That's was a thought... She is just starting to become less skittish and coming to take treats from the hand

Lovely hen, most likely an Ameraucana.....Araucanas are rumpless and have crazy handle bar cheek tufts. Her not laying could be a combination of molting and the stress of joining a new flock.
The US. standard is different than the rest of the world for Arucanas.
She‘s pure.
Just taking her time, too.
And she may never lay. Some don’t. Some might have something abnormal. But she’s beautiful, and I hope you’ll love her anyways.

There are also British Tailed Araucana which have a crest, beard, muff and a tail. They are more common than the rumpless ones outside of America and the most common colour is Lavender.

Fascinating, I had no idea. Here in the states it's common for people to incorrectly call Easter Eggers and Ameraucanas, Araucanas. Sorry for the unwarranted officiousness  !
