I'm a southpaw. I paint right to left for that very reason. Not as much of an issue with acrylics or watercolor because they dry pretty quick, but oils will make you hate yourself if you drop a hand in. Also why I almost never paint with oils.

When I paint with oils my fingertips are 6 to 8 inches from the canvas

You have a lot more stable hands than I do. If I were that far away I'd have some... interesting effects from the shakes

I feel like I get more control when I don't choke up on the brush, it's why handles are so long.

I mainly work with Digital because I’m too lazy to drag everything out… I’m an everything sort of artist though!
