You guys are amazing! I wish I had some more to share, but haven't drawn for weeks. This is what I was working on before I had to quickly store it, haven't gotten around to pulling it out again.

Phoenix redesign?
Messing around with using contrasting colors for shading and generally making it pop. It really makes a huge difference between a meh piece of art and an amazing one. I just take my base color, and make it a cooler and darker shade. Or if my base color is a cool color like blue, warming my base color.

Art where I only used value-based shading (using the base color and simply darkening it)

I've seen people draw fur like this and I still can't figure it out- so stunning and realistic!
No matter, I'll just stick to my silly goofy cartoons.

Wow, I love the redesign. The blue stripes across the feathers are so cool. I like the purple spots too. It reminds me of a certain coleus, lol.

I got an electric eraser now! I find it works best for large-scale drawings.
