Maybe chalk it up to ignorance? There have been lots of other threads where people said they wouldn't eat a farm egg because of where it came from. People are very ignorant about where their food comes from. In all honesty, that remark would probably "tork" me too, but you can't let others' ignorance eat at you. You are the only one that gets hurt. You know your eggs are good and so does your family and friends. Eventually, that person will get set straight about farm eggs.

It is so hard to deal with how ignorant people are or want to be about their food. Recenlty in talking with my older brother who had pigeons I learned he thought you had to have a rooster for a hen to lay eggs. I would have thought he knew this not to be true.
Is it any wonder people are getting sick not knowing anything about their food and how it is grown and processed.

It sure is. I was talking to my mother today about selling some of my poults for $10. She said you can get a whole grown turkey in the store for that, why would someone pay that much just to have to raise it? Because Mom, people want to know where their food is coming from...

And that the growth on their kids chest isn't from the hormone crap they feed some of these birds. Or that the anitbiotic they give their kids will work because they haven't been fed it every meal that contains meat. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that alot of us aren't suffering from the crap they put in our food.
Seems to me it's better to eat less of the healthy food than alot of the unhealthy crap and be over weight.

and ya know what else? I usually grow my own tomato plants but last year I didnt cuz of the time and I bought them? Well we had a bad blight up here and guess where that came from? That's right from the shipped tomato plants. Year before I had a variety of tomatos and frooze enough for the entire winter. Not last year, nothing.

A few days ago, I submitted an article to a new Christian Homesteading publication that is debuting thsi fall.
I have no idea if it will be published or not, but thought I would share a portion of it here.
If you would like to read the rest, PM me, and I will send you the rest.

As Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we understand that we are to live set apart lives in the world.
Daily, we are faced with various trials and temptations that beckon us to go over to the world’s ways.
We all know that in order to grow as Believers, we must be well nourished in God’s Word, and not the word of man.
There is one other kind of nourishment that we also need, and that is physical nourishment.
All of us at one time or another have felt the faintness of hunger, or the ill feeling after eating a food that is unhealthy.
1 Timothy 4:1-5 addresses an aspect of food that I would like to focus on today.
This passage states, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain form certain foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
We know that the food this passage is talking about is food sacrificed to idols. However, there is another layer to this that has really stuck out to me. There is much more to this passage. “God created to be received with thanksgiving… every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.”
Everywhere we turn, we see people in physical distress due to the modern diets that are placed before us.
Every week, some new diet cure is “discovered”. We are told not to eat various foods. We are assured if we do eat this food or that food, (often a processed product) that we will find optimal health as a result.
In the last 100 years or so, we have undergone a food revolution. Progress has brought us commercial farms that yield modified and processed foods that are promised to save world hunger.
Large farms pack massive numbers of animals inside pens and buildings. Massive levels of antibiotics are needed to sustain life under these circumstances.
Genetic modification has been utilized. Large factories churn out massive amounts of prepackaged, processed convenience foods.
At the same time, we have witnessed a steady rise in modern disease.
Diseases that our ancestors rarely saw. Lets touch on a few of these, to get a grasp of where we are today.
Did you know, that a little over 100 years ago, tooth decay was at about 1%?
Today, tooth decay is at 80% and rising.
At the turn of the 20th century, heart disease was not listed in medical books. It was a rare occurrence!
Today, it is estimated that half our population dies from cardiovascular disease.
Diabetes is fast climbing the charts as well. I think I can safely say, that all of us know several people with diabetes today.
Skin cancer rates are also climbing very fast.
Infertility visits one in four couples today. PJR

I would feel that this person wasn't real educated about food and that she was missing out on a great opportunity to make her baked goods better than ever. I would also feel sorry for her for these things and go about my business providing good eggs for other people. You don't need the money for extra income and the money was going for God's work, so let God handle it!

Hold yer head up high and sell your quality fresh eggs for God, honey!

Do any of you feel like your Christian walk with God has helped you get off the rat race? I feel this so very much and the level of contentment I experience now is thrilling to me! No more struggling to make life happen according to my image of what I wanted out of life....just floating now, with my face to the Son and faith in God to buoy me up.

What a lovely feeling to not have to worry any longer about the things of this Earth!

I don't participate here much, but I feel the need to post a praise report. Our landlord defaulted on his mortgage and we are moving this weekend. We found an awesome place that is even better than where we are now. Ok get this. I asked the current landlord for our deposit back. Never even imagining I would get it. I picked it up yesterday, IN CASH!!!
