Any dark brown egg BANTAM breeders in New England?

bantams with dark brown eggs. not the cream brown that most hens lay.

i want marans in bantam but i can not find any. and it seems many welsummer owners have an underdeveloped brown color.

Sorry most bantams I've seen are light brown egg layers. I used to have a Barnvelder bantam hen and she only lays light brown egg, more of a tint color but her quality was very good!

I've not had any Maran bantams but from what I saw, they are just light brown in color. A lot of work and selective breedings would be required to make improvements on the breed. That is why I am working on darking the egg shell colors of my Welsummer Bantams.

how does one work on shell color?

Select the darkest brown egg shell colors from your flock and cull the rest.

It will take several generations to get there.
