We lived in an "intensive harvest" area for years. Too many deer. Period. Now after 3-4 years of letting everyone shoot 2, 3, and 4 deer a piece (depending on if you did early doe, had a landowner tag, etc) they say "levels are where we want them" so now hunting is just to maintain the current population. Stupid. Don't spoil us on so many tags (especially someone like me who never hunted till the past 3 years and only even knew high bag limits) if you're gonna turn around and jerk the rug out like that.

My guess is stupid lawmakers.

Just a guess. They are trying to cut back here in NY as well. That said, on the way to work, I had to stop (STOP...full halt) as two fawns tried to decide which side of the road they wanted to exit. Then, I got to work and found a mother and two fawns standing in the yard in front of the office. You have to love it!
