The meet-the-author event was great! Bought the new book and had it signed. Heard some great stories from Preston about how he and Child met and how they write together. Fun!
I have read all of their books and all of the books each has written as an independent author. Enjoyed the Agent Pendergast series. Didn't care for Blasphemy so much but loved Impact and Deep Storm. They are authors that I generally follow for when they are publishing new material. I would also like to know what anyone thought of their new Gideon series. Anyone? I have not read Gideon's Sword yet because ratings were not the best. I also liked James Rollins but mostly his stand alone novels. The Oregon series from Cussler were good but become almost predictable. Those of you you enjoyed these may also enjoy books by David L. Golemon, Jeremy Robison, and Andy McDermott. Many of these writers, like Preston & Child, write books that cross into several genres.
This has nothing to do with anything, but every time I click on 'Random Ramblings' I see Douglas Preston in the corner of my eye. Never heard of him, but my name is Preston and I live in Douglas county. It just speaks to me
