I went out a few days ago.... Got 4 small walleye and one decent Northern Pike..... We have about 8 inches of ice

This looks like a great thread. Down in Maryland we have all sorts of fishing from trout in streams in the mountains out west, the Chesapeake Bay for Rokcfish and Ocean City for Marlin and anything in between. Lots of nice trophy size fish on here.

I am late to this discussion, but yeah, I love to fish. I am in Northers Utah, also a desert, but the mountains are loaded with small streams with trout. I am headed to Central Utah next week to try my luck on some new streams. Here are a couple of browns my friend and I caught last year about an hour from here.

we need more pictures like that! :)

my fishing license expired.. if i'm going to fish from the local lakes around here.. i'll get mostly rocks :/ if not catfish and sun fish..

Hi y'all, I'm new to the site but saw the fishing thread and had to jump in! My husband and I love to fish! More do me than him. I could stay on the river or lake all day rain or shine. He is very fair weather. We went in our first trout fishing last year on Kake Taneycomo and hired a guide. Wow!!! I was pumped!!! I caught a 22" brown trout and several other trophy size rainbows. Of course we catch and release the big ones . But kept enough legal for some good eats. I'm going back in early May. We do a bit of lake fishing around KC but I'm hoping to retire some day near Taneycomo. Just saying hi!!!

Hey Wyatt, I bet it is super sweet fishing there in Maryland. I don't know why but have an itch to visit Maryland or Maine. I mean seriously. My hubs thinks I'm nuts since I've never been there. I grew up in Mississippi setting trot lines with my dad and fishing for perch. I want to go clamming bad, and try my hand in the ocean :) well and crabs always sound good too!! You are too lucky to be there!

Howdy Welcome... I'm heading out in the morning to fish Munising Bay on Lake Superior.... Going for Whitefish and Splake maybe a lake trout or coho... :idunno

There's still 10 inches of ice.... Even with this January thaw.

I to consider myself very lucky to be living in Maryland as there's always something to fish for any time of the year. I personally think Maryland is one of the most diverse states for fishing. Clamming is fun and crabbing is even better. There is nothing better then having blue crabs from the bay. The ocean is really beautiful and July and august are the best months to catch marlin but tuna and dolphin come up earlier.
