A year ago my wife of 38 years took her life.
So I spent a year not fishing. Starting to get out again.

So hard, thoughts and prayers your way. I am so glad you are able to start getting back to things you enjoy.
Is that fish I see under the ice?

Ohhhh man! If you want some good fishin' you have got to come to Wisconsin!! Thousands of natural lakes and streams! I've honestly never thought about living in a desert and having to drive hours just to fish! I can drive only 10 minutes and catch 30+" northern pike daily. Or drive only 30 minutes away for trophy Muskie and plenty of crappie, bass and perch (and many others)

I live in the U.P. lots of lakes here as well

Yes..... but as an 100% disabled veteran I fish and hunt for free

Already ate it. Caught about 5 days ago. It was a 17 1/2” rainbow trout. 1 pound 12.8 ounces.

We have some beautiful pictures of our neighbor's sons and their haul of some sizable black drum and red drum caught in Lake Pontchatrain in New Orleans. They were caught from a boat, although I have caught similar fish from the seawall.
I will try to have DH post them later tonight.
