Any Gamers Here?

I mean, I don't mean to offend, I think it's sad people get judgey over harmless leisure activities. Somebody finds a spark of joy and someone else feels the need to comment about how pointless their joy is. Just my opinion that if you feel the need to put down something harmless that someone else finds joy in that's kinda sad. Maybe I'm looking at it from a different perspective...

Thats just plain rude. I just voiced my opinion and you can take it or leave it. Remember this is a place of retreat for a lot of us. I didnt mean to strike a cord with you. I could have said TAT GAMEZ DUB I H8 IT but thats not constructive. If you like the game say what you like about it

Mass effect 1/2/3 (did not care for Andromeda)
Dragon age origins and 2 (similarly did not care for Inquisition)
Stardew Valley
Among Us (though I've fallen out of that one recently)
The Sims

VERY excited for Mass effect remaster, catch me throwing money at EA and Bioware the second they announce preorders!

Didn't really care for Inquisition, but that seems to be an unpopular opinion. Idk, it just felt like endless fetch quests, and while there WAS a central storyline, it wasn't as strong as Origins/2. And the companions seemed .. meh. Like I didn't care about their backstories/motivations.

Other people I've talked to have the exact opposite to say, though, so YMMV.

Some people like fetch quests I might check it out but I agree that if I dont like the backstory etc. I probably will be meh as well

What!? Saying something like that is RUDE!? How could you say such a thing? I was just expressing my opinion about someone elses behavior! I could have said "DoiNg THaT maKEs U DuMb!" but I didn't because that's not constructive. All I said is it was sad to do! I didn't mean to strike a chord with you!

If you like being critical of harmless games maybe you should say what you like about it?

Sincerely, though. It's not very nice when it's someone else being critical of YOUR behavior is it? Even when it's in the EXACT same way you're critical of other people? You've made multiple VERY personal judgements about people playing certain games. And ironically you've said things like "People should be more focused on real life" while now demanding that other people maintain this space as a retreat from real life for you.

Maybe you should ALSO try to maintain this space as a retreat for others instead of being judgmental in a personal way to people who are just trying to enjoy video games. I'm certain that in the future you'll be able to be critical of games without being critical of the people playing them, since you also would like this to remain a space for people to enjoy games.

Oh also! My partner got a VR thingy. Oculus Quest? It's pretty cool, I've enjoyed messing around with it. Some of the games give me MAD motion sickness though, and I get all hot and nauseous.

There are other games that are like, less motion-y and fun. I like the fishing games

I've been wanting to try the Oculus. I see in thd commercial fine print though that it doesnt reflect actual gameplay. Are the graphics any good?

Partner is replaying the Danganranpa trilogy again and we're on game 3, which is trashy (compared to the other two) but also very funny and I'm having a great time watching it play out.

He also sent me a remix of the main theme with Billie Ellish's Bad Guy which is just super jammin' and deeply appropriate.
