Any Geocachers here?

The box of choice are ammo boxes, some use butter containers, Tupperware or other plastic containers. Tupperware lasts longer because it's good quality. There are micro caches you just sign a log on that are tiny and hard to find but fun to go after.
You don't need math to Geocache, that was for something else they were talking about.

ooh good! Maybe we'll give this a try then! It sounds interesting..

Ok that's good! Some of the Gps units sold today for autos aren't good for geocaching, but what you have should work. There are online user manuals for all the different Garmin models. You should be able to find how to mark a waypoint there. It's really easy. You don't really need to know a whole lot about latitude and longitude. Just make note of what it tells you for "N" and "W", and use those numbers when you publish your cache.
Have you found any caches yet? Finding a few before you hide one will help a lot, with both using the gps, and getting familiar with different methods of hiding a cache.

That's got to be my problem I was using our car garmin which is why I knew I was "close". Someday I'll get myself a handheld.....

Moxiechick I have never been out hunting for the cache because I am handicapped and need help and no one around here seems too know how to set the GPS too start. I do have a friend that lives about 2 hours away that is supposed to help me when the weather gets warm.

Moxiechick, I have been too the cemetery twice that is close too here and tried too find his cache but my gps is not set up right and I thought I could use the map and find it cause I know the place pretty well but I have yet too find it. I know I would love too do this and have tried many times. Lets keep this thread going. Wonder if we could locate our lost chickens with the gps!!! HEE HEE I am ready too hear of yall's findings and learn all I can from you all about this Geocache.

Michigan cacher here. I don't have a ton to my name but I have only been at it since June of '10. I'm running a Garmin GPSmap 60 and an eTrex Legend. We like to cache when we go camping. 2 of my favorite activities at once.
