Once in a while, my b-I-l will give me food he doesn’t want from the food bank (
) or food from a senior he takes care of (home health kind of thing). It’s usually expired, and 90% corn.
Today he gave me a bag of gold!! Lots of pineapple, peaches, some generic peanut butter, grape and strawberry jellies, Mediterranean oranges, orange marmalade, and mixed vegetables.
Do you know what I can do with all that?!
Pb cookies, pb cups, pb a bunch of other things (I don’t eat cheap pb sandwiches), Pineapple upside down cake, pork chops slow cooked in marmalade (sooooo good!), Shepherds pie, pot pies, and a million other things I’ve not made in ages!!
Had to look that up, never heard of them.Does anyone have a bierocks recipe they especially like? I know I can find one online but would rather try one someone here has made.

I am a bit jealous. There is a place about an hour away where I can get bison. I’m allergic to venison though, so I would be afraid to try bison.
I would love to grow and can my own kidney beans! However, the issues I have been having with gardening makes me hesitate to try at this time.
I am not worthy of being in your presence!
Even if you don't grow them yourself, it costs about the same for a pound of dry as it does for a can and you get seven cans out of a pound. If you can afford to buy in bulk price per pound goes down as you go bigger.
Beans are nearly a complete food too!
Dried beans can be a real bargain and easy to keep on hand.
It is COOL GLOOMY Sprinkle Rain .....making a pot of homemade soupBeans are nearly a complete food too!
