I have 2 kitchen scales. One was free with a weight loss program I joined. It is OK. the other one I bought from Walmart.
I like the Walmart one because it will change measure systems on the fly - I can get gram, kilogram, ounce and pound weight of an object - I can scroll through all of them for a single item. It has a nice sized, flat surface to put the bowl on to measure - last night I stacked 8 potatoes on it to get a pound of potatoes for a recipe. the drawback is that the flat surface is securely attached and it is a pain to try to clean under.
The free one works pretty good but it comes with a bowl to use for measuring, and I don't have another bowl that fits right. So I need to wash the bowl between measuring. Whe I am doing a recipe with more than one weighed ingredient it can be a pain.
