The only difference in how I do it, is I dust the rings in flour before dipping them in batter. I've never frozen them, but will certainly try that next.Your Welcome Penny!

Very helpful!So key is to not make the batter thin keep it rather thick but used my half and half to make it have like 4 walla walla sweet onions sliced living in a gallon bag in the freezer
