@penny1960, that's true, especially with my families financial problems. I have to admit, we're a lot better than we were two years ago. Finances are getting better slowly but surely.

By the way, I forgot to post the rice recipe. Recipe credit goes to geniuskitchen.com.

1 cup of rice
2 cups of water
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of butter
Half a teaspoon white vinegar

In a pot with a lid, mix all ingredients except for the rice. Bring to a boil. Add the rice, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Put the lid on top, and let it cook for 20 minutes. Do not lift the lid. After 20 minutes have passed, remove from the heat, and fluff with a fork and serve.

@jnicholes Thanks for the rice recipe, you used white rice, correct?

Sorry to hear your car broke down, but glad it was an easy(ish) fix.
It sounds like a long grain white rice. short grain is closer to 1 to 1 for ratio of water to rice

I just used the rice I had. It was white rice. Don't know if it was long grain or short grain. The recipe calls for long grain.

@wyoDreamer, it was an easy fix. I was just stranded for a good hour until my dad could help me out. Just me, my brother, and my ukulele. I couldn't leave the ukulele in the car, because the heat would do damage to the strings. I had to bring it with me to Del Taco. I'm glad I had it. It's like an old friend.

It's the same ukulele that gave the eulogy when my guitar broke.
