So yesterday we touched on baking strips and dish towels for keeping a cake level. This article popped up on my Pinterest feed ( :rolleyes: ) and I thought it was interesting to see the comparison (the dish towel on top of the cake wasn't part of it):

It looks like the strip around the pan and the using a cake leveler to cut the top of the cake would be the way to go.

I use a cake leveler and it works well. Freeze the cake after leveling so that it is easier to frost

Good grief to fussy for me was actually thinking of making a cake mixing pudding letting it set then stir it in should I wait till it is ready to go in the oven
