Any Home Bakers Here?

I used pine with the first flock. Even with deep litter I never had a stink.
The bedding is on sale BOGO at TSC.
I’ve been happy with straw. Sand was okay, but it arrived wet, and never got to dry out before it froze.

Found the recipe! And even found a photo from the last time I made them.

Banana Doughnuts
makes 6

1 Cup AP flour
1/4 Cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
dash of grated nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 Cup buttermilk
1 ripe banana, mashed
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon melted butter

Maple Glaze
1 Cup powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon milk
1/2 tsp. maple extract

1. Preheat oven to 325*
2. In large bowl, combine flours sugar, baking powder, spices, salt. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the buttermilk, banana, egg, vanilla extract and melted butter. Stir to combine.
3 Spoon batter evenly into lightly greased doughnut pan. Bake 10-12 minutes. Doughnuts should spring back when lightly touched. Remove from oven and let cool.

Make the glaze
1. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk and maple extract until smooth and creamy. Dip each cooled doughnut into the glaze. If desired, can sprinkle with cinnamon.

Great, Igor is going to strangle me if he sees the pan before the doughnuts...he will love these, thanks :highfive:
FWIW he has said many times I need to stay out of this thread, but the smile on his face says otherwise

Thank you DMC! I've decided I kind of like making doughnuts...not as much to have around the house as a cake and they're fun to make.

:barnie I forgot the cream cheese to make blueberry cookies!
The light in the cooler was off, and it’s in a dark area of the store. Not seeing it made me forget it.

Bummer! Another trip tomorrow?

Our grocery store is so crappy, even with taking a list they don't usually have everything I have on it.

I get to leave the house once every 5-9 weeks.
They were out of; pepperoni, most bread, skim milk (all sizes), very low on bananas, no big tomatoes, very low on lettuce (5 heads, usually have 30 or so), no cornmeal or flour, and the freezers were mostly bare too. I finally found a bag of pierogis, and a few boxes of corn dogs.

Why do you get to leave your house so seldom?

Why do you get to leave your house so seldom?

No offense, but I'm curious too. Why do you not leave your house that often?

Anyway, today I actually witnessed something very interesting. I witnessed an aerial fight between a swainson's hawk and a peregrine falcon. It was rather interesting to see.

We had Rice-A-Roni tonight. It was good!
