igorsMistress, No...this is Jenny Jones Can Cook...on U Tube. If
you cannot find it....let me know and I will post it. It is simple. Aria

Cool, thanks! If you use a loaf pan in place of the cast iron, do you think it might require less baking time? What about an enamel coated dutch oven? I have a small one that isn't heavy.

This is the 3 hour rise bread ...Baked in my Antique Dutch Oven
Do NOT think I like this...the Cast Iron Dutch Oven is too heavy and when it is HOT....I think I will try this recipe again and bake it
in my EmileView attachment 1933014 Henry Vessel. It was fun trying something new. Aria
It looks very good!

:gigI found her @Aria and the recipe. She's got a sense of humor! Love it, thanks for sharing. I'm going to get a loaf of the bread going tomorrow morning. Igor will be super happy, it's been too hot to bake so he's been eating store bread and hasn't been at all happy about it!

Once you get used to the fresh homemade kind of bread, store-bought is hard to take. Sort of like store-bought eggs vs. those our flocks lay. :)

The recipe: No knead Bread
3 cups Flour (I used Bread...you can use All Purpose)
1/4 teaspoon yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups (hot water 130 the highest..not boiling)
1. Combine flour, yeast and salt in a large bowl. Stir in water
it's well combined.
2. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand at room temp 3 hours
3. After 3 hours dough will become puffy and dotted with bubbles .....
transfer to a well-floured surface and sprinkle dough with a
little flour. Using a scraper fold dough over 10-12 times &
shape into a rough ball.
4. Place in a parchment paper-lined bowl(not wax paper) and
cover with a towel. Let stand on counter top for about 35
minutes.
5. Meantime place Dutch oven with lid in a cold oven and
preheat to 450 F. My oven takes 35 minutes to reach 450
6. When oven reaches 450 carefully, using oven gloves, lift the
Parchment paper and dough from the bowl and place gently
into the hot pot.(parchment paper goes in the pot too).
Cover and Bake 30 minutes.
7. After 30 minutes, remove lid and parchment paper. Return,
uncovered , to oven and bake 10-15 minutes. Let it cool
at least 15 minutes before slicing. It is a SUPER recipe.
Have fun and enjoy. Aria

Nice!

I have apple streusel muffins in the oven now

You all are making me feel bad. Penny with her muffins, IM with her bread tomorrow, you with your muffins.

I have a sweet potato in the oven. That's all, just baking a lonely sweet potato for my dinner. :hit (But I do really like them, so it's not that sad.)

I have the the dutch oven it is cast iron with porcelain over it love it for roasts, ribs whatever use the plain loaf pans more versatility with the loaf jmho
I can't live without one of these Dutch ovens. I didn't go the expensive route either. I got a Lodge brand and it's perfect. I make so many things in it.

Very true! I don't eat the store bread but hubs takes a sandwich for lunch. He was telling me he is positive a bacon and egg salad on homemade bread would be superior to his recent experience.
