Aria, I agree with @R2elk and @penny1960 the PFM is worth it! Sometimes there are contests where you can win one, but it's easiest to just purchase it (and doesn't cost much).

Just got done making some pretzels. I cheated and used the KA mix, but they are so good (and easy).

That's too bad Penny.

DH loves big pretzels, he uses them for sandwich bread. I've made them from scratch in the past, but I had a coupon for KA and got a 3-pack of the mix. He really likes the way they taste and I like how easy they are.

Yesterday I started the sponge for another batch of the Country Bread I made last week. This time I kneaded it in the Kitchen Aid, I’m not sure it saved any time considering it shot flour all over me and the countertop But the grandson thought it was entertaining. I want to bake the loaves separately and maybe not have the bottom crust come out harder than the hubs of hell. Not sure if I should reduce the temp from 500 to maybe 450 for the first part of the bake, or use a heavier pan or take it out sooner.
